Come closer, things are going to get dicey this post. Do you like turnips? Well, I made the mistake and answered my neighbor with a resounding yes, and he left me about 112 in a box on my door step. I decided to put the question to my kiddos and this is how it went.
Kiddos: What are we having for dinner?
Mommy: Raw and cooked turnips.
Kiddos: Huh?
Mommy: Tell me which one you like better, raw or cooked with butter and salt.
4 Kiddos: Raw.
Mommy: Huh?
Throw in some mac and cheese and meatloaf and I was in business. My experiment worked this time, they tried something new. But this is not the end of the story.
Our week was filled with worry and experiments in patience and study. I researched, paced and cafinated all too much. The test results for my son are not back yet but we do know that he has been far more successful than anyone could have expected. We are surrounded by his love and the love we have from friends and family. I am so thankful to have this venue to share and help process my life out loud so to speak. Thank you all for your notes of support and encouragement.
Perhaps the bigger experiment is how we get through the ups and downs of this life we are given.
When life gives you lemons, try a turnip instead!
I am off to go find recipes for turnips....
